Why does this happen & how to avoid it
We’ve all experienced the green marks left behind on your skin when you take off your earrings, rings, necklaces or bracelets. It can be annoying and even difficult to get rid of.
Why does this happen?
Copper jewellery (or plated copper) is the biggest cause of the green mark. That’s why we decided to make all of our jewellery with stainless steel instead. It reacts with sweat, lotions and creams and other products that may be on the skin. The copper then oxidizes, going through a series of chemical reactions and leaving a “film” of green on the jewellery. This film then transfers onto the skin! It’s so important to us that all of our jewellery is made from stainless steel so it doesn’t cause green fingers for our customers.
Does it go away?
YES!! Although it can often be difficult to remove, it is just a layer of residue left on the skin which can be wiped away.
How to prevent this from happening...
The easiest way to prevent this from happening is to wear jewellery that is made with stainless steel or platinum! Our jewellery is the perfect option as it’s all made from stainless steel. You should also: Store your jewellery in a dry environment. Keep your skin dry when wearing jewellery.
